Our Story, Mission & Values
OUR STORY
Tŷ Cwch was born from a deep love for the Welsh coastline and a commitment to preserving its natural beauty for generations to come. Nestled in the secluded cove of Cwmtydu on the Cardigan Heritage Coast, our boathouse offers a unique retreat where the rhythm of the sea meets sustainable living.
The name “Tŷ Cwch” means “Boathouse” in Welsh, reflecting both our heritage and our connection to the maritime traditions of this stunning coastline. What began as a personal project has grown into a welcoming space for travellers seeking authentic coastal experiences.
Today, we continue to honour this vision by providing affordable, eco-friendly accommodation that allows guests to immerse themselves in the natural wonders of Cardigan Bay while treading lightly on the environment.

CWMTYDU
Cwmtydu is a hidden gem on the Cardigan Heritage Coast, a secluded cove where a freshwater stream meets the sea. This magical location has been cherished by locals for generations and remains unspoilt by commercial development.
Positioned between the villages of Llangrannog and New Quay, our boathouse sits directly on the Welsh Coast Path, offering unparalleled access to some of Britain’s most spectacular coastal walking routes.
The waters of Cardigan Bay are home to the largest population of bottlenose dolphins in Europe, and grey seals can often be spotted lounging on the nearby rocks. It’s a place where nature takes centre stage.
